Trezor Suite download: desktop, web and mobile

Three ways to run the same application, and one rule that outranks all of them — install it from the manufacturer's official page, never from an advertisement, a mirror or a file somebody sent you.

Download only from the official page

Fake wallet downloads are the most reliable way attackers empty wallets: a sponsored search result, a lookalike domain with a swapped letter, a "mirror" link in a chat group, or an installer attached to an email. Use the official manufacturer page below, then bookmark it so you never have to search for it again.

Never type your recovery seed into a website or app

Your recovery seed is the master key to your funds. No genuine wallet app, website or support agent will ever ask you to enter it — if a page asks for it, leave immediately.

Desktop app

Web app

Runs in a Chromium-based browser and talks to the device over WebUSB or WebHID. Handy on a machine where you cannot install software.

Mobile companion

A phone app for checking balances and watching an account. Typically view-only, so keep the desktop build for anything important.

Before you start

Have these four things ready

Ten minutes of preparation removes most of the ways a first setup goes wrong.

Your Trezor device and the cable that came with it — a charging-only cable will not carry data.
A private room and a clear desk. Nobody should be able to see or film the screen while your recovery seed is displayed.
Paper and a pen, or a metal backup plate, for writing down the recovery seed by hand.
The official download address, typed by you or taken from a bookmark you verified earlier — not from a search result.

Install in six steps

Reach the official page. Type the manufacturer's domain yourself or use your bookmarked link, and check the address bar and certificate before downloading.
Download the build for your system. Pick the desktop installer for Windows, macOS or Linux. If you would rather not install anything, open the browser version instead.
Install it like normal software. On macOS you may need to approve the developer in system settings; on Linux the desktop build handles the USB permissions for you.
Connect the device. Use the supplied cable, plug it straight into the machine rather than through a hub, and let Suite detect it.
Set it up or recover it. A brand-new device gets a new wallet created on the device; an existing one is recovered from your seed. Follow the setup guide if you want the sequence spelled out.
Send a small test first. Receive a token amount, confirm it appears, and only then move anything significant.

Requirements

What your computer needs

Suite is not demanding, but USB access to the device is non-negotiable.

Windows & macOS

A recent 64-bit version of either system, an available USB port and permission to install software. Modern builds are signed so the operating system can verify them.

Linux

A modern desktop distribution. The desktop application ships with what it needs to talk to the device — no manual device rules required.

Browser

For the web app, a Chromium-based browser that supports WebUSB or WebHID. Safari and Firefox have limited support, so use the desktop build there.

Exact system requirements change between releases. If your machine is unusually old, check the current release notes on the official site.

Troubleshooting

The device is not detected — now what?

Almost always one of five things, in this order.

1. The cable

Charge-only cables carry power but no data. Swap to the cable in the box before you try anything else.

2. The port and the hub

Plug directly into the computer. Powered hubs and docking stations are a frequent cause of dropped connections mid-transaction.

3. The browser

In the web app you have to grant USB access when the browser asks. Deny it once and the device disappears for that session.

4. The build is out of date

Old Suite versions can fall behind firmware changes. Update the app, then reconnect the device.

5. Another app has the device

Only one application can hold a Trezor connection at a time. Close other wallet software and try again.

Antivirus and Windows warnings

Security software sometimes flags wallet installers while it checks a new release. If you see a warning, verify that you downloaded from the official page and that the file matches the checksum published there — do not simply switch protection off.

Nobody needs your seed to help you

There is no support workflow anywhere in the world in which a legitimate helper asks you to type your 12, 20 or 24 words into a form, a chat window or a remote-support tool. Anyone who offers to "validate" or "sync" your wallet is stealing it.

How fake download pages actually work

Knowing the shape of the trick is the best defence against it.

Lookalike domains

One character changes — an extra letter, a hyphen, a different ending — and everything else looks right.

Chat 'support'

Someone in a community group offers a "verified build" or a remote session to fix a problem you did not know you had.

Email and message attachments

A "critical security update" arrives with an installer attached. Real updates come through the app itself.

The defence is boring and effective: bookmark the official page while you know you are on it, reach the app through that bookmark, and update through the app rather than by downloading a file from anywhere else.
