Trezor Suite is the desktop and browser application published by SatoshiLabs for managing a Trezor hardware wallet. It shows your portfolio, accounts and balances, and it is where you prepare and confirm transactions, update device firmware and change device settings. Your private keys stay on the hardware wallet itself — Suite is the interface you use to work with them.

Yes. Trezor Suite is free to download and use, with no subscription and no account. You pay for the hardware wallet itself, plus ordinary network fees when you send a transaction. Optional services inside Suite — such as buying, selling, swapping or earning through third-party partners — carry fees set by those providers, which are shown before you confirm anything.

You can install and open Suite without a device, but to create accounts and move funds you need the hardware wallet connected. The device holds the keys and confirms every transaction on its own screen. Companion mobile apps are typically view-only and need a setup that was created on a device first.

Suite is built so the sensitive part — your private keys — never leaves the hardware device, and every outgoing transaction has to be approved on the device screen. That removes most remote attacks, but it does not remove the human ones: fake download pages, seed-phrase phishing and malware that swaps addresses. Install only from the official manufacturer page, verify addresses on the device screen, and never type your recovery seed into a website or app.

No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no login. Accounts and balances are derived from your device's keys, and the labels you attach to addresses and accounts are stored locally on your own computer rather than on a server.

The desktop app is a standalone application for Windows, macOS and Linux and is the more complete and more commonly recommended option. The web app runs in a Chromium-based browser and talks to the device over WebUSB or WebHID, which is convenient on a computer where you cannot install software. Both are built from the same open-source codebase; the desktop build is the one to choose for everyday use.

Suite covers a long and growing list of networks and tokens, including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens, Ethereum Classic, XRP, Cardano, Dogecoin, and Solana with SPL tokens. What you can actually see and send can depend on your device model, its firmware version and the network's own requirements, so the manufacturer's supported-assets list is always the source of truth.

Yes. Suite can be pointed at your own Bitcoin full node or another compatible backend instead of public servers, and it can route its traffic over Tor. Both options live in Settings and are off by default. Using your own node is the strongest privacy setting available in the app.

Firmware updates are handled from inside Suite. With the device connected, Suite offers the new version, verifies its signature and installs it after you confirm on the device screen. Never install a firmware file that arrived from anywhere other than the official app, and be suspicious of anyone who offers you one.

Yes. Both the Suite application and the device firmware are published as open-source code on GitHub, so anyone can inspect what the software does with your data. The practical upside is verifiability; the practical rule is still to run official builds only.

Your funds are not stored on the device — they are on the blockchain, controlled by your keys. With your recovery seed (or a Shamir backup share set) you can restore access on a replacement device. That is precisely why the seed must be written down offline and never photographed, stored in a notes app or typed into a website.

Not for everyday use. Suite reads balances from blockchain data servers and broadcasts transactions, so it needs a connection. You can reduce what those servers learn by running your own node and routing over Tor, but the app itself is an online tool.
